| First off, the car is a 92 twin...of course ;) Anyways, the mods are 2.5" Stillen cat back with x pipe, 550cc injectors with a Ztuner chip, Stillen single intake, Spec Stage 2+ clutch, and the 120k done probably 5k miles ago or so. I am running stock intercoolers, but will probably pick a set up with 2.5" piping to install when the turbos go on. I also have 2.5" downpipes and test pipes that will go on when the turbos do, they just aren't installed right now. And yes, I know I'll need 5 bolt downpipes if I step up to ball bearing turbos instead of Sport 500s or Sport 600s. The car is fun to drive but it seems that even with the tiny turbos, the car doesn't really seem to reach boost as fast as a car with tiny turbos should. Also, it just doesn't have that "throws me back in my seat" feeling I have gotten in other turbo cars, even on a mildy modded Starion with it's fairly small stock turbo. So, while full boost a little earlier would be nice, I'm willing to make the trade off of not reaching full boost until about when stock turbos do, as long as it pulls WAY harder once boost is being built. With the motor being stock, and probably going to keep stock manifolds for now, I don't really think the biggggg ass turbos are the ones for me. I plan on keeping the boost moderate until I get a mildly built bottom end so I don't want to run huge boost and melt a piston or something for a few moments of fun. I've been in contact with a few guys on here selling turbos and so far the options seem to be: Z1 GT600R Z1 GT675RS GT2871R (essentially Z1's 725R) JWT Sport 700 GT3071R I'm kinda leaning towards the 600R, or maybe the 675RS but I think the 725R is just too big and I know the GT3071R is way too big lol Also, the JWT Sport 700, the guy has about 20k on them and I don't really know if I want to pick up a turbo that's been used that much. My 300ZX mechanic friend is really trying to sell me on Sport 500s but I figure if I'm paying him to pull the engine and install them, I might as well step up to a ball bearing turbo. He says that with the bigger turbos around Disco Potato size, if I install them, I'll just be pulling the motor again down the road to install the internals to handle the power they make. He might just be trying to get me to stay conservative so I don't blow my motor, but I don't have a clue...never had a car with a biiiig turbo on it, let alone 2 of them :D
